Help & How to Use

How do I set the digital thermostat?

To preset a specific comfort level between 65°F - 85°F, adjust the thermostat setting to your desired temperature. The display will show selected temperature reading. When preset temperature is reached, the heater will shut off. When the room temperature drops below the preset temperature, the heater will automatically turn on again to maintain the preset temperature level. Please review user manual for further instructions.

The fan on my heater is running; but there is only cold air coming out of the heater, is that normal?

Here are some common reasons why a heater may blow cool air:

  1. Some heaters have a fan only setting which will enable the user to use the heater as a fan. If your model has that feature, check to see if the heater is on the fan only setting.
  2. If the heater is on one of the heat settings, rather than the fan only setting, then it may have overheated and shut off power to the heater. Follow the reset instructions found on the heater or in the owners manual.
  3. With some digital thermostats, the fan will run for 30 seconds without heat once the set temperature is reached. This is to blow out excess heat and ensure an accurate and consistent temperature reading.
  4. If the heater continues to blow cool air after checking the above suggestions, please contact our Customer Service team.

What do I do if my heater does not operate?

If your heater is not operating, please follow these steps
  1. UNPLUG THE UNIT and make sure the heater is placed in an upright position.
  2. If the unit has a thermostat, it may be set too low. Turn the thermostat to its highest setting until the heater restarts. Make sure the Selector is in the High, Low, or Eco-Smart™ setting.
  3. Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is working.
  4. Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction, turn the heater OFF and UNPLUG THE UNIT. Carefully remove the obstruction and follow the reset instructions.
  5. DO NOT attempt to open or repair the heater.
  6. If your heater is still not operating, please refer back to the troubleshooting section of your user manual or contact an authorised Service Centre in your area.

What if the incorrect temperature is displayed?

It takes several minutes for the heater to provide an accurate reading, so allow the heater a few minutes to adjust the temperature display. Also keep in mind that portable electric heaters measure heat directly near the heater - the temperature may vary from the reading on your wall thermostat.

When I turn my heater from low to medium or high should the fan speed increase?

The fan speed should not change when you change the heat setting, the amount of heat being produced will change but the fan speed will remain the same.

NOTE: Fan speeds are held constant to ensure that the fan does not offset heat output.

Why does my heater keep shutting off?

Here are some common reasons that portable electric heaters shut off:

  1. The thermostat on the heater is not set high enough.
  2. The heater needs to be reset due to an overheat situation. Consult your owners manual for additional details.
  3. If the unit has tip-over safety protection: To reset, simply place the heater in an upright position on a level surface.

Why does my heater turn on and off all the time?

The heater might start turning on and off frequently. This is called cycling. Cycling occurs when the temperature in the area around the heater is extremely close to the temperature that the heater is set to maintain; as such, slight temperature changes can cause the unit to cycle on and off. Slightly raising or lowering the thermostat can usually reduce this effect. Note: The heater will cycle more often in a High heat setting then in a Low heat setting because the air heats up more quickly.
